The Queen Mary is free all day! Hook a brother up! In honor of the 80th anniversary of this fine sailing ship, stroll the promenade, grab a cocktail in the lounge or mingle in the shops. There’s always activities happening on the Queen Mary.
100 Days of Summer kicks off with Flashpants, an 80’s tribute band. Another one? If you can’t get enough of the 80’s, stop by the Marine Stadium at 6 p.m. Voted best tribute band in the OC!
The Aquarium is offering a class around Jellies! No, not strawberry. Jelly fish. Those things that hurt like crazy if they sting you. The ad says you can touch these ones which may be interesting. Don’t worry: it’s for kids only so you won’t hurt your hand. Check them out here.
After you’ve washed your hands, enjoy a bit of theatre at the Long Beach Play house. “A Raisin in the Sun” begins its run May 27 but you can also catch it on Saturday as well. Actually you can catch it up until June 16th. “A Raisin in the Sun” debuted on Broadway in 1959. A feature film was released in 1961 staring the original cast which was headlined by Sidney Poitier. Nice!
SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY! Remember from those monster truck commercials? Ok. Maybe not. Sunday is the Super Sunday Special Sale consisting of over 20 acres of flea and antique market vendors. This is it’s 5th year in Long Beach. Maybe you’ll find some hidden treasure?
In case you didn’t get your fill of dancing from Friday or Saturday, have no fear! California Nightlife presents Long Beach Pier Pressure Memorial Sunday. Climb aboard the King Yacht and for 3 hours, you can enjoy four decks with four different DJs.
